How to Succeed in Chemistry at Any Level

How to Succeed in Chemistry:

  1. Take good notes.  The notes I provide here are just a study guide, an outline, "bare bones".  YOU NEED to capture the important details and examples... so make sure to take lots of careful notes.  Try Cornell notes.  They are a good way of taking notes that will help you study for tests and quizzes.

  2. Do your homework.  It is VERY hard to succeed in chemistry without lots of practice.  Your homework is the best place to do this.

  3. Study actively.  When it comes time for a quiz or a test, don't just "review your notes."  In order to learn chemistry, you need to make your brain active.  Quiz yourself.  Redo practice problems while simulating test-taking conditions.

  4. Seek extra help early and often. Don't let confusion snowball! I want to help you succeed - so please, PLEASE ask for help!!
